When it's useful

An agent or script often has Markdown and a destination that wants a different format: Slack mrkdwn, Teams HTML, Jira ADF, or plain text. This MCP server does that conversion and nothing else. It does not post messages or create issues.

What you can do

  • Convert CommonMark and GitHub-Flavored Markdown.
  • Call markdown_to_slack, markdown_to_teams, markdown_to_jira, or markdown_to_plaintext.
  • Run it from Cursor, Claude Code, or Claude Desktop with npx -y @ysskrishna/markdown-convert-mcp.

Limits and fit

Whitespace-only input returns an empty string. Input over 200,000 characters returns a tool error. Slack may still truncate long text fields on its side. The package is on npm as @ysskrishna/markdown-convert-mcp. Setup for each client is in the GitHub repository.

Whitespace-only input returns an empty string. Input over 200,000 characters returns a tool error. The server converts text. It does not post Slack messages, send Teams cards, or create Jira issues.
